Meet Nathan Jurevicius. He is a very good friend of Scarygirl – in fact, he knows what she'll do before she does it. He has made toys, games and books and is even working on a film.

Nathan and I sat in the sun and talked about his ideas and how he makes them happen.

Where do ideas come to you?
Mostly in the shower or at inconvenient times. Ideas can get very distracting as there's so much stimulus in the air. Food, galleries, the zoo, books, tv, kids, smells, old washing – it all provides some seed of inspiration.

But what do you do if you can't find any ideas?
Finding ideas is not so much of a problem for me – it's knowing which ones are good and worthwhile remembering! I'm never stuck for a concept – but I'm often confused as to whether it's something I should pursue.

Taking some time out and standing outside in the sunshine helps clear my head and work out if I really love the idea...I sort of formulate the whole process in my brain, take little notes, ask advice from others...mind meld with the cats.

Do you procrastinate?
Often....I spend a while massaging things mentally (or at least pretend that's what I'm doing). Once it's all good to go I'm usually pretty fast in the creation.

How do you know when an idea is finished?
That's a tricky thing. Nothing ever seems quite good enough to me and I'm always wondering what more I could be doing.

Usually when I get to that point of an idea I know I'm close to finished...but it's all an ongoing process and technically it's probably never fully realised.

Nathan, an idea is never finished; it's a journey that gives you the challenge to take snapshots in and then exhibit in your preferred media.

               I love ideas.

                  The only trouble is,
I can't seem to ever finish them.

I decided it was time to ask
               my friends for advice.

I thought it was a good idea.
They told me to stop procrastinating.
